i was thinking about green handshakes, and i knew my wife and i personally would try to slide at least $100 each c.o visit to the c.o.
if we were low on cash, we'd never hand him less than $20.
how many of such handshakes does he receive in a weeks time?
COs and their wives rack in 100s each week, cash only, in lavish gifts is another story. I would be awe stricken if they report any of it for taxing or any other purpose.
In a NH Spanish cong there used to be an elder that had heavy ties with the airport through his job, and always flew free of charge the COs to any vacation destination. Oh, that brother and his family were so loved and had so many cushy privileges in the assemblies.

i received an email from one of the elder in the local congregation.
i am not dfed so there is not a problem there, i am just an aggressive fader.. one of the last things i said to this elder before i stopped all activities was that i do not agree with the borg taking all the assets from the congregations.. here is what the elder said in the email:.
"i recently saw something while looking through the jw broadcasting for the month of may and i though about you.
I would return a "Thanks" e-mail and leave it at that.
I have openly expressed that the Org sure is not following Jesus' counsel to first sit down and make good plans before embarking in any project, and that they are spending all the money they receive unwisely.

i know of a few married couples in the spanish congs that are doing everything right, you know, with the theocratic schooling, the pioneering, etc., and... nothing!.
how do some seem to reach certain posts so damn quick, while others cannot make it?!
And believe me, being an elder is nothing more than problems on top of problems, the most thankless job ever inside this Org. All the elders in my immediate and extended family certainly think so.
CO and above is when you get to pull rank and the dough starts rolling in with the 'green handshakes', the Org sending a monthly check and the congs covering all the weekly expenses.
All the COs we have known through the years have taken super expensive vacations.

a fresno man is facing murder charges in court this week for the shooting death of a jehovahs witness who later died after refusing a blood transfusion.. according to police, quevedo and silva argued over over gang membership with quevedo returning later in the evening to shoot silva through the security door at his home.. silva reportedly told a fresno police officer jehovah, jehovah, im dying, im dying, as he was taken to a hospital where he died during surgery after refusing a blood transfusion because he was a jehovahs witness.. it is the belief of many jehovahs witnesses that it is against gods will to have a blood transfusion.. according to defense attorney antonio alvarez, quevedo should not have been charged with murder because silva refused a transfusion that could have saved his life.. prosecutor gabriel brickey disagrees and will call fresno county pathologist michael chambliss to testify that, even if silva had received the transfusion, he would have died because one bullet hit a a major vein.. quevedo has already served time in prison for felony battery and theft and was on supervised release when he was arrested for shooting silva.. if convicted of murder he would face life in prison.. original story with suspect picture can be found here: fresno shooting.

I have said plenty of times before, it happens in any group people, and in ALL religions for sure. If a family/extended family is large enough, there is usually a molester or two.
We just happen to think it is more of a JW problem because it is what we know, but it is really EVERYWHERE!
